Slow Luxurious Living: Becoming a Woman in Love with Her Life

January 16, 2026

Welcome to my first founder’s note on slow luxurious living. These notes are where I share who I am, what I love, and who I am becoming.

You may choose to follow along as I live a slow, relaxed lifestyle. One intentionally designed around ease, freedom, serenity, and my own version of luxury.

In this note, I reflect on how I evolved into slow luxurious living over the past few years, a way of moving through life with devotion, reverence, and trust.

To get you acquainted, here’s some backstory.

Choosing a Soul-Led Path

In 2023, at the age of 46, I committed to following a surrendered, soul-lit, soul-led path.

I was at a point in my life where I was completely done with striving to achieve, setting goals to get, and trying to make things happen.

I had done that my whole adult life, and it repeatedly led me to periods of burnout and what felt like dead ends. Something in me knew it was time to live differently—by listening inward.

Loss, Loyalty, and the Return to Freedom

That same year, I began solo traveling again. Something that was deeply nourishing to my soul and had helped me heal after a divorce in my early 30s.

For several years, I only traveled for business or to see family on holidays. Mostly because I was a single dog mom and I couldn’t bring myself to leave Harvey, my wire fox terrier, with strangers for non-essential trips.

He was the constant companion through some of the hardest moments of my life, and we had created a deep bond. He passed in 2021 at the age of 16.5.

The grief was very real, something I know many pet owners understand. Sometimes they are not just a pet, but a guardian angel.

After his passing I decided to begin designing my life around freedom in every way possible. My soul feels most lit-up and alive through freedom.

Choosing Slow, Luxurious Living

I closed 2023 and began 2024 in Paris.

I like choosing a word of the year and in 2024 I chose Elevate.

That year I also visited the Amalfi Coast, Rome, London, and New York. I enjoy walking through beautiful cities without an agenda. I love to experience the culture, savor simple moments, and soak in the exquisiteness of art and architecture.

Wandering and savoring, without anywhere to be, is a practice of presence and slowness.

One that nourishes me and reminds me how much richness is available when nothing needs to be accomplished and only felt.

Savoring has become one of the ways I understand wealth and wellbeing more deeply. Something I explore further in our complimentary guide, Savoring: The Secret Art to Feeling Luxuriously Nourished in Life.

Letting My Life Reflect Who I Had Become

In keeping with my word of the year, Elevate, I also raised my travel standards that year: five-star hotels, private transfers whenever possible, and business class for all international flights.

In the spring of 2024, I decided to sell my house in Colorado and elevate into a high-rise apartment with floor-to-ceiling windows in downtown Minneapolis.

It was a change I needed for a long time. And although leaving the house I had built was difficult, the fresh energy renewed me.

Upon moving, I cried when I sold my 20-year-old Mazda. Yet I found comfort in allowing myself to elevate into a Mercedes I had been eyeing for some time.

These changes and new standards were about honoring what felt most aligned to me at this point in life. Allowing my outer life to reflect who I now was within.

Slow, Luxurious Living as a Way of Being

That year, I made a commitment to only do work and create revenue streams that felt like freedom and authentic self-expression.

By listening to a quiet—yet persistent—soul whisper, I started this blog, WellBody WellBeing.

It was a name I had held in my heart since 2009.

Currently, this is a place where I enjoy writing about holistic wellbeing, embodied worth, embodied wealth, and slow, luxurious living as a way of being.

This creative outlet marked a deeper devotion to a life that feels artistic, spacious, nourishing, and true.

Trusting Life and the Circulation of Abundance

2024 was also the year I elevated my trust. Trust in myself, trust in life, and trust in the circulation of abundance.

I am someone who always chooses trust over certainty, and alignment over control, to live life fully and without regrets.

I often make financial decisions that support a more truthful, aligned, and joyful way of living, without knowing exactly when or how the money will return.

This way of living has deepened my understanding of wealth as a state of being, grounded in inner safety and something to embody rather than accumulate.

I’ve explored this perspective on wealth more deeply in our article, “True Wealth: The Art of Living Rich from the Inside Out.”

Choosing Joy, Simply

I closed 2024 in true party fashion by seeing one of my favorite progressive house DJs at a local venue.

I’m not a partier. I don’t drink. And I never stay up past 23:00.

But seeing the artist Kaskade on New Year’s Eve was something I could not pass up after years of being a fan, and it was completely worth the late bedtime.

Finding Magic in the Ordinary

I chose 2025 as the year of Magic—and falling even more deeply in love with my life.

Magic revealed itself in the mundane and simplest moments because I was living my truth and designing my life intentionally.

Both my outer life and inner state of being were shaped around ease, serenity, and freedom.

Much of my time was spent writing blog articles and gaining greater clarity around my grandest vision for my life.

Classical concerts and dance performances moved me to tears, while leisurely afternoons in art museums fed my artistic soul.

I also reconnected with friends and family I hadn’t seen in a long time and felt an overflow of love.

The summer season included many afternoons journaling by the pool. Along with a beach and spa getaway in Miami that left me feeling recharged and even more inspired.

Through experiences like these, slowness has taught me to notice the quiet magic in ordinary moments. It is something I return to daily.

I’ve gathered quotes that reflect on this way of living in our article, “Slowing Down Quotes for a Luxurious Life of Ease.”

Asking for More and Letting Life Respond

In Miami, I met my new friend and mentor, Marta Hobbs, in person for the first time.

We enjoyed a relaxing lunch on the terrace of the Four Seasons Surfside, talking about expansion, receiving more in life, and living fully.

Later that day, sitting under a beach umbrella and watching the turquoise waves, I felt deeply connected to what is most true for me.

And with that connection I was overcome with joy, appreciation, and a deeper love for my life.

I asked God, “More of this, please.”

Entering Majesty

Ending 2025 was truly magical and fully lived up to my word of the year.

I took part in a VIP experience in Paris that Marta Hobbs hosted. We attended a private celebratory holiday dinner with Dolce & Gabbana, followed by an exclusive high jewelry presentation at Dior the next day. I also received dinner and spa time at the Four Seasons George V.

Alongside it all, there was wonderful connection and conversation.

During my time alone, I savored magical walks through Paris to take in the city’s energy and Christmas beauty.

After the VIP holiday experience in Paris, I decided to become one of Marta’s private clients for luxury mentorship. I’m fully ready to expand into even more luxurious, soul-led living.

Two weeks later, to close 2025, I went on a solo trip to Vienna for my first Viennese Christmas.

It was filled with grandeur, imperial beauty, luxury shopping, incredible museums, and exquisite holiday brilliance at every turn.

My word of the year for 2026 is Majesty.

I plan to embody my own majesty and experience life’s majesty on an entirely new level this year. While I continue to devote myself to slow, luxurious living.

Come follow along to see how it all unfolds.
